Pallet Buildings ( A low cost way to home ownership.)

I've been toying with the Idea for some time about building a house out of pallets but that is as far as it has gone. My first Idea was to erect an outhouse over a storm drain in my backyard and use it as a tool shed for my garden equipment. Then I toyed with the Idea of making a playhouse as practice for a larger house in my future. So out of curiousity I went in search for information to see if anyone has ever done such a thing. Yup... I'm not an original thinker. Someone has been there done that. However I am not discouraged by this news. I am actually quite elated in that I can use the failures and successes of others to create my own home with out fear of miserable failure. I have found many web sites that detail the construction of these homes, garages, sheds and other bits. Below you will find a link or two that I found most interesting.
Check them out have fun and consider the possiblities.

It's an interesting idea... However many times it was conceived.

I wonder what could be done to make it as practical as possible in places that have extreme weather, like cold winters or a lot of rain?

I wondered about the possibility of constructing a maple syrup shack out of pallets, or possibly a "snowmobile shack" although some would question that as a green activity I guess.

Great idea!!! Almost every day there is an ad or two in the classifieds of our local paper for free pallets.

It's a good idea, for sure, and building a playhouse is good practice. If you don't need a playhouse, you can try building a deluxe doghouse. That works too.

It is a nice idea, but I would be concerned about insurance, in UK it is hard to get insurance for buildings of non standard conatruction.

I guess it does depend on whether or not you want insurance. We're getting more and more into more non-flammable construction, too. It's down to the intent and purpose, I guess.

First things first....just wondering how does a pallet building looks like? I just finish my White Card Tas online construction course but I haven't heard about it? what is that stuff?
