That's interesting. So the detergent and soap are environmentally friendly, right? I also utilize grey water to water my plants, but only the decorative plants. I still doubt about watering vegetables or other plant to consume with grey water. I don't now, maybe it's ok.

anything harmful will be filtered out by the earth before it gets to the plants Zappa... just don't use any water with bleach in it!

If in doubt, try it on one small area for a week or two... and if it seems ok then spread out. Most of us must be using 'green' soaps and detergents anyway.. so it won't be a problem. Oh and if you are NOT, then why not????

Currently I have on my drawing board a system that I intend to install that combines my grey water with a rainwater collection system but as of right now I haven't got the money to invest in the materials that I need to complete it. :TAZ:

After I wash dishes in the sink, I take the water out to the yard - not to be green, but because I am cheap :)

When I take a shower, I turn on the water enough to get me wet then turn it off. I turn it back on to rinse myself off. I do this too because I'm frugal. I learned this technique while using public showers at Talladega at a NASCAR race. (very cold water!)

I also swim in our pool and count that as taking a shower at night since it is kept free of contaminants via chlorine.

I just don't like to waste -- electricity, water, gas, possessions, even people. Of all, people are the worst thing to let go to waste. I kind of wish people cared more about people. That's another topic.
