My husband got a digital camcorder before we went down to see our kids and grandkids. The camcorder basically fits in the palm of his hand, and our grandkids were fascinated with it. You could flip the viewing screen so the kids could see themselves as they were being recorded. Our oldest grandson (four this month) studied it very seriously, and my daughter took some excellent digital snaps of Grandpapa and grandson studying the workings of the camcorder.
Anyway, the size of the camcorder made it very easy to take along and also take candid movies when my daughter and sister in law weren't aware of it ! The picture quality is wonderful as well.
