go digital

Getting a digital camera is actually so environment friendly...it saves lots of paper and use of toxic chemicals that are used to print the photographs...it reduces the use of rolls...So I think it is better to switch to digital camera if you already havnt and print with discretion.

Re: go digital

I've had a digital camera for a few years. Sometimes I'll take my laptop to family gatherings and show photos or videos that way. Also I archive the photos on an external hard drive.

I guess one thing we still have to be aware of is the proper disposal of whatever batteries we use, which would be an issue for film too.

Re: go digital

That's right. We here also use digital camera and stop printing the pictures. we just save the image files on my PC and watch the pictures on the screen whenever we want.
Not only digital camera, digital books are also environmental friendly. We'd better to read on the screen instead of the hard copy.

Re: go digital

Most of the manuals I've got with my latest software have been in digital form, which is good. I would still miss actual books when it comes to reading for pleasure, but that could change too.

Digital picture frames could be useful to avoid printing on paper as well.

I really like the digital picture frames, they're very Harry-Potterish, but they're so fricken expensive!

Re: go digital

I think if you have a hard drive recorder for your television, then you can display photos on your TV screen.

I've not tried that with ours, other than popping a CD into a DVD player and looking at pictures that way.

I guess at some point you'd have to safely dispose of a digital picture frame, too.

I think our TV is too old to do what yours does, but when we get a new one I am definitely going for those chips!
atula, I think it would be such a nice idea to have several frames around the house...but you'd be laying out such money just for a couple! The price has to come down someday... :TAZ: .

Re: go digital

Definitely! I hardly ever even print photos now and all the ones that I printed over the years rarely get viewed anyway. It's much more convenient to have them saved on CDs/DVDs to share them on my computer directly.
