Re: Say No To Plastic Grocery Bags!

I think that the Liquor stores in Ontario have switched from plastic to paper bags across the board now.

Their next issue is getting people who use the 8 can cartons for beer or cider to bring those back, because they don't get reused in the current empties return program.

this is my problem too Kitten.. I seem to have to buy a new one every time i shop! I put one in the car boot, and forget to take it into the store with me.. i put one folded up in my jacket pocket (then don't take the jacket) leave one by the door etc.. still forget them.

I just saw the link for making recycled shopping bag from plastic bags and I think it is so creative...I am not sure I can make the thing though as I am not very good at crocheting but I am definitely trying.....

Currently I have 6 cloth bags of one kind or another but I also use Milk Crates and wood Crates to carry groceries in. The wood ones are my favorite because they can be mulched up for cover in my garden when they get to trashed. (taking all the metal out of course)

Re: Say No To Plastic Grocery Bags!

My sister in law gave me some cloth grocery bags a couple of Christmases ago, and they have the longer handles, to where you can put them on your shoulders. Much more comfy than the short handled ones, I think.
When I do have bags I can recycle them to our local Library (for taking books home on rainy days), and the area food share, who can always use plastic bags.
