I can't say that anyone influenced me Deltic. Having Grown up in Alaska I think that nature was the inspiration for me.

I think my grandmother influenced me most. She knew about recycling and not wasting precious resources long before it was a big issue. She didn't waste anything, even pieces of string were saved and reused.

i can't think of a particular person either Deltic... just an awareness that grew on me gradually.

I think school had a very big influence on my children. They were very keen to check that we were doing our bit for the environment.

I think schools now put a lot of emphasis on the environment and on green issues.. the next generation are far more knowledgable than ours is..

Like Deltic, it was my Grandma who was my biggest influence. She was an old-fashioned farm girl who tried to never waste, to make something rather than buy it, fix it yourself, etc. She was also a master gardener and could grow anything. Her fruits and veggies were the very best ever. I'm not as clever as my Grandma about these things, but I try to follow her example.

In highschool, I got put into a horticulture class, mainly because that was the only elective class left after everyone had registered. I thought I was going to hate it, but the teacher was so compelling and into it that I found myself enjoying the class. I think he influenced me the most of anyone.
