What makes you think they are stopping production of the corvette and camero because of fuel economy? Did you consider they might have stopped production because the general public stopped buying those particular vehicles? Whether we can't afford it or we just don't value it like we once did they aren't selling. In August, GM delivered 746 Corvettes, down from 966 in July and -82% off the 4,242 Corvettes delivered in the same time period a year ago. If I made a product that had that kind of decline in sales I would likely stop production as well.

The public wants (or needs) more fuel efficient vehicles. There are still plenty of sports cars on the market you can buy if you want (or can).

It's not GM that is stopping production......remember who owns GM..............Barrack Hussein Obama owns it. He is the one pulling the strings. As far as sales,the economy is out of the recession from what our V.P. And president tell us,sales should be on the upswing,and unemployment is slowing to just a quarter million Americans losing their jobs Isn't it just great in America !

Brass Monkey...I do get your point,believe me. I know that sales are down. Everything thing is down in the USA right now. I work for the largest shipping company in the world,our volume is down. We are making a profit inspite of these lean times. You can limit the number of cars that you produce to reflect the sales. But, it is Barrack Hussien Obama's choice to stop production,The President of the United States of America making decisions in the private sector,this is crazy.

That is why we cannot afford universal healthcare here either,gov't can't run it,we are going broke....we can't afford Barrack Hussien Obama. I will probably have to work till I die with his spending,even though I am debt free,this man is out of his mind with spending.my taxes will go up to pay for his stupid choices.

The US Postal service is losing money because it provides a service to the public at an absurd price. How much does it cost to deliver a letter through UPS? If they charged .44 cents to deliver a letter they would be bankrupt too. They would probably even discontinue the letter delivery service to save their company.

Which brings us back to the Corvette and Camaro.. Who's to say they wouldn't bring the discontinued cars back once the economy improves and make them with better fuel economy? The VW Beetle is a great example. I owned an older Beetle when I was younger and I loved the car (still wish I had it!) but it was a beast. Now my wife owns a new Beetle and, in my opinion, it's one of the best cars on the road in terms of handling and fuel economy. It's not a hybrid but it gets great mileage for a traditional car... Unlike the old Beetle I had in School.

I don't think we need national healthcare either.. What we need is insurance reform! Why do you think the tallest buildings in every city are owned by banks and insurance companies. They are the one's with the money and their greed needs to be controlled!

Well first that is why you cannot allow the gov't to run anything. Who in their right mind starts a business and then begins to sell their services at a cost that causes them to run at a loss? Does thay honestly make sense?

I see Brass Monkey you have taken a bite of the apple to. I don't hear anyone screaming about the 51 billion dollars that the Post Office is debt. If you kool-aid drinkers would look at the post office and say WE NEED LETTER DELIVERY REFORM then I might lend a ear to your cause,but you just jump ojn the band wagon of hope and change and have tunnel vision,I remember just 7 short months ago people were screaming "STOP THE WAR", "FREE THE PRISONERS IN GITO". Just proves that most people can't focus on more than one thing,and you let others control your lives and what you think.

Every sector of this economy could be improved on,without a doubt. What we have in America is the best system,it has it flaws because it is run by imperfect people. If you were to run it,it would be imperfect. But,when the gov't runs something it falls apart faster because all they have to do is raise your taxes or print more money to stay in business. Don't you wish it were that easy?

I hope that answers your colonial question,I think Barrack Hussien Obama is disparaging when he travels the world and oplogizies for my Uncle,and Grandfather who fought in WW1,WW2,and saved the lives of millions of people who couldn't fight for themselves. He has not earned that right. How about I go around and apologize to everyone for all of the mistakes you made,and mention how arrogant you are,and how stupid you are for making those mistakes.
