Norway plays important role in forest conservation

Norway. The small Scandinavian country has emerged as the most important force in tropical forest conservation. Currently Norway has commited 3 billion krone (around $440 million) a year to the effort. It is expected it can help push to include forest conservation in the successor to the Kyoto Protocol.

Good for Norway.

I must admit I find it surprising that this country's taking a leading role on this topic - But it's still great to hear that some headway's being made.

Thanks for the link. ;)

It is often the smaller countries with no hidden agendas that lead the way in these things. Sometimes the world leaders are too busy jockeying for position to worry too much about actually doing anything.
