Eco-Friendly Plant Waterer

You cannot find a recycling center to recycle your plastic bottles (or drinking water bottles)?
It think it's time to utilize them to water your garden. It is a simple, efficient and green way to water your plants. The idea is using water more efficiently by providing plants water only when they need. Using this method, you can recycle your plastic bottles as well as save water.

Not a bad Idea, but you need to remember to Mulch... ground that is under mulch retains more of its moisture than ground left exposed to the sun and wind. So MULCH!!! Might have to try this product out. Pretty easy to make so... Great post

That's a very clever idea.. It amazes me how people come up with all this stuff.. The instructions in the article are very clear so any idiot (me) can do it.

Yes, that's really a smart idea. It's more advanced than what is being practiced by some farmers in my location. The farmers use bamboo instead of drinking water bottles.

I like the bamboo idea better.
of course if it is a matter of Re-use over refuse than go for the water bottles but if you can recycle the bottles and have access to bamboo then go boo.

Re: Eco-Friendly Plant Waterer

We have lots of glassblowers in our area and they make very pretty potted plant waterers. There is a round bulb on one end, and a long neck. You fill the bulb, insert the neck into the pot, and hey presto, your plants get watered. The blowers usually put a coloured swirl around the bulb, they're very pretty as well as practical. They make good presents as well.

I think this is also a cool solution to keep your plants hydrated when you are going out somewhere for a day or two....I think I have plenty of bottle to do this...so let me try.
