Solar-powered cooker

(I wonder if here is the right place for this topic  )

The "Kyoto Box," (named after the United Nations' Kyoto Protocol that seeks to cut emissions of greenhouse gases) is a cardboard box using solar power to cook food, sterilize water and could help 3 billion poor people to cut greehouse gases.
It cost only 5 euros to make.

Jon Boehmer, the Kyoto Box developer stated , "We're saving lives and saving trees."

Re: Solar-powered cooker

I think these boxes are great. There is something no one has ever been able to explain to me: We have had the technology for a long time to be able to use the sun for heating and cooking.....so why isn't it more readily available?

Re: Solar-powered cooker

I wonder how hard it is to make your own solar cooker. I think I've seen instructions on the internet somewhere....
